Barrie Blogs: Fundraising Total on the Rise for RSPCA WoodsideLeave a Comment
I adore animals as you probably already know, so it was an honour to be appointed as the Leicestershire ambassador for the RSPCA Woodside earlier this year.
As a salon group, we’ve annually donated pallets of food for the animals alongside money raised through our Christmas events. However in my new role as an ambassador, my goal is to get people thinking and talking about the incredible work that the staff do, in place where so many hundreds of animals are looked after before being sent on to loving homes.
Following my appointment, I got straight to work on a fundraising and awareness campaign for this worthy animal charity, raising a total of £2,700 so far!
The first event that I organised was an extravagant dinner at Leicester City Centre restaurant, The White Peacock. My team and I raised approximately £1,700 through a raffle organised as part of the luncheon, with prizes ranging from a visit to a Barrie Stephen Salon and a treatment in The Beauty Lounge branch of our salon group, to salon supplies kindly donated by Balmain, Keratase and Eufora. I extend my warmest thanks to these wonderful brands for supporting this cause.
I also express my thanks to local businesses including David Lloyd Nabrorough, Fenwicks, The City Rooms, Hotel Du Vin, Sytner and Pomponettes, Lush, Flowerworks, Indigo Acre Flowers and The White Peacock – all of whom donated additional prizes to the raffle.
A further £1,000 was added to the kitty following a late summer garden party which took place recently, during which guests enjoyed big band jazz music and a BBQ – all whilst learning more about how they too could help in supporting the charity in the future.
A big thank you is also given to our brilliant salon members involved in the partnership, after they volunteered at RSPCA Woodside, helping the team whilst learning more about the inner-workings of the charity.
Whilst these early events have all been a tremendous success, I endeavour to plan many more events in the future, to raise even more funds and a greater level of awareness for this amazing charity.
The RSPCA is in the business of transforming lives and making the world a better place – and that’s something that I am very proud to be partnering with.
