Barrie Blogs – I Heart Sam Bailey!Leave a Comment
The weekend saw Leicester’s very own Sam Bailey crowned the winner of The X Factor 2013 and I for one could not be happier for her! Since her first audition I’ve taken a real interest in Sam, and her transformation from prison officer to glamorous soul singer has been amazing to watch week on week. In honour of Sam Bailey, I wanted to dedicate this blog post to her and her amazing talent.
Our First Glimpse at a Future Superstar
I remember watching the episode where we are first introduced to Sam, and with The X Factor you never know whether it’s going to blow you away or make you cringe. I was really routing for her to belt out a memorable song, and boy did she deliver!
As the weeks went on and Sam triumphed with each and every stage, we got to see another side of Sam and that was her gorgeous glamorous side! Opting for a lighter hair colour (which I loved loved loved!) some beautifully applied makeup and an enviable array of perfectly tailored outfits, we got to see that Sam Bailey is not just an amazing voice, doting wife and loving mother, she is also a stunning woman!
This week, Sam came back to her roots and performed at the King Power Stadium during halftime at the Leicester City Vs Man City match. She performed the Whitney Houston classic How Will I Know and her debut single Skyscraper which has been hotly tipped for Christmas number 1. Ditching the glitz and glamour of The X Factor, she opted to perform in a thick padded jacket emblazoned with the LCFC badge.
With all the stories floating around of diva-like behaviour (as they always do) it’s great to see that Sam Bailey is remaining grounded, putting paid to those rumours by going straight back to her home town to perform for a delighted football crowd of which she was once a part of. She’s also doing a signing at the HMV in Leicester this week, a true homebird!
We are all routing for Sam to get a Christmas number 1 here at Barrie Stephen and hope sheâll think of us when the time comes to touch up her colour!
