Barrie Blogs – My Favourite Hair Trend from Years Gone ByLeave a Comment
A trend I love from years gone by would have to be the BOB, the iconic shape created by the hairdresser of all time, the late great Vidal Sassoon.
His revolutionary method of cutting hair became the foundations of hairdressing as we know it today. His sharp lines and high gloss finishes created a buzz throughout the hairdressing industry that can still be felt at salons in the present day. I relish the opportunity to get creative with a cut like this, it calls upon my technical expertise and I just love the way it transforms a persons confidence as they leave the salon with a precise and classic cut that oozes girl power and control.
What’s more, the iconic BOB can be cut in varying ways and suits all face shapes making it a timeless style. The modern day bob still takes all the characteristics of this haircut with different angles, graduation, asymmetry, with or without a fringe, straight or curly and this makes it accessible and desirable for the modern day woman who goes from the board room to the dance floor.
We’ve seen celebrities across the globe give this classic cut a go; Jennifer Anniston famously emerged on series 7 of Friends with a sharp and glossy bob which suited her beautifully. More recently, Lily Collins has been seen sporting a gorgeous wavy bob which looks absolutely stunning and frames her dramatic, gorgeous features.

So, would you guys ever go for the bob? Have you recently taken the plunge and gone for the chop? I’d love to know what you think about you think about the style and how it makes you feel.
