New King Street SalonLeave a Comment
To celebrate a fantastic 10 years in Leicester, Barrie Stephen has marked the milestone anniversary with a major refit of his new King Street salon to unveil a stunning new-look interior. Transformed in just a week, the 1,000m² city-centre space underwent a £150,000 makeover designed by prestigious salon designer Charlie Hearn and brings five jobs to the salon.
Now boasting an enclosed spa backwash area, a new colour lounge concept and a beautifully illuminated staircase, the minimal look salon is a classy mix of bold texture prints and glossy shine â all in a sophisticated palette of grey and white with flashes of lime, black and floral â all in a beautifully fresh and light environment.
Already acknowledged with national titles of Local Salon of the Year and Salon Team at the British Hairdressing Business Awards, Barrie Stephen King Street has now taken its affordable luxury customer service experience to a whole new level with this beautiful updated look.
To officially re-open, Barrie invited significant people from the salonâs history â Leicester City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby and Leader of the City Council, Nicholas Rushton making welcoming speeches congratulating him on his success. Among others in attendance were clients, accountant and friends, Chairman of The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity and Group Chief Executive of the Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce. Also supporting the lovely breakfast event was the LOROS Hospice which Barrie has fundraised consistently for over the years, product manufacturers and marketing and PR. Even Leicesterâs most famous king, Richard III, made a return to his namesake street and made an appearance.
Walking past a funky waiting area, clients can now relax in a home-from-home colour lounge upstairs with all the latest magazines as well as iPads and a computer station for browsing the web whilst their colour develops. âWeâve changed it up â cutting downstairs in the buzzing salon environment and then colour upstairs in our gorgeous chill out area where there are refreshments and comfy seats. This is where youâll get first class treatment; big city styling with all the luxury and amazing hairdressing expertise just without the large price tag,â Barrie says. âItâs all about making the client feel amazing. Going to the hairdressers is an experience and this is one you will not want to miss.â
Charlie Hearn, Salon Designer
âI wanted to create a salon that was light, airy and contemporary with some features unique to Barrie. It also had to reflect Barrieâs philosophy, aspirations and personality.
When I first saw the salon there were certain elements that I loved and wanted to emphasise and build the design around â the height of the building, the open atrium in the middle, the prominent position of the staircase. I feel that the salon reflects the growing vitality of Leicester which is having a renaissance but more importantly, I think it reflects the personality, attitude and maturity of Barrie Stephen (and his team of course).â
